Orbicule and MobileMe to overlap functionality

In a post on forthcoming OS support for Orbicule, support for sending a message to an iphone and remotely playing a noise is mentioned. With the recent release of iPhone OS 3.0, these are the major selling factors Apple is using to entice users to MobileMe.

With all the reports over the approval process for apps being submitted to App Store, can Orbicule guarantee that their app will get through with these features? Apple previously refused to approve Podcaster on the grounds that it duplicated the functionality of the podcast section of iTunes.

Series60 mac address bug affecting Nokia N80 smart phones

Series 60, the operating system running on many smartphones, sometimes reports the mac address of the wireless network adapter on the phone incorrectly (enter *#62209526# and press send/call to find the reported mac address).

I think the only consumer device this will affect at present is the Nokia N80, as this is the only model with built-in WiFi.

The good news is I’ve hacked up a quick form to fix incorrect mac addresses. If you’re having trouble accessing a network that uses mac address access lists, put the reported address in the box, click Go and see if it works using the new mac address.
